Cheap Furniture ?

Sir Brian asked:

I’m looking to purchase new cheap furniture for my home and I was thinking if its a worth buying the furniture on the internet? If there any discount furniture stores online that I can buy from …something not too expensive and still be in good quality enough to keep for a while.

cheap furniture is just that, cheap and not worth the money spent on it. Save a little more and buy better furniture. Also look in to buying GOOD used furniture. Lots of people, mostly with too much money, buy new stuff when theres absolutely nothing wrong with thier old stuff.

    Walmart.com

They are doing this thing now, if your ordering heavy things and the shipping is more than you want to pay, you can have it delivered to your local store instead of your home, which eliminates the shipping fee’s for you!! You order and pay online they’re site, have it shipped to your participating store. When it comes in to your local walmart, it goes into the back, where layaway used to be, got rid of layway here, and they call you. You go there with your online reciept from ordering time, pick it up and haul it home!
I just bought alot of stuff from walmart.com about 4 months ago.

What is cheap? I don’t like cheap things. Treat yourself to nice new living room set at Bobs discount furniture or something! And I know your not talking about used furniture No Way you don’t want to catch bed bugs or anything!

there is this wonderful store called ikea…they have inexpensive furniture that will last you awhile. i’m not sure if you can shop online, but they have stores all over the usa. the reason it doesn’t cost a lot is that you have to put together your stuff.

so, you see the display model of, for example, a dresser. you decide you like it, pick out the finish you want and then pick up the box of pieces and take it home. it helps if you have a bigger car for some of the stuff.

it’s a really fun shopping experience though!

has an ever-changing variety of things that they get from manufacturers that have produced too much or are changing out a product line. You could also try something a little less certain … sign up to be a member in your area of People post items that they are looking to move out of their homes. If you’re interested, you respond (I’m always more likely to choose someone who gives me a good story - i.e. “I’m just starting out and have a very limited budget, so I would appreciate the chance to get your chair and give it a new home!”), the person giving the stuff away (yes, it’s free) chooses someone and if you’re chosen, you are contacted by the seller and arrange a time to come by and pick the stuff up. I’ve given away a number of things that might otherwise have gone to the trash man (no time to do garage sales). Speaking of garage sales… find a more upscale neighborhood near you and go on a Saturday morning early for garage sales. You can often find very gently used items for great prices.

Why not try your local Goodwill Industries if you have one in your neighborhood? It’s a great place to find many household items. The rich take their stuff there & some of it is like new.
